You captured all sides of this issue. I was fortunate to know that I could and should have a fulfilling life of my own. I don’t know how, because I’ve lived through the times women couldn’t buy homes or cars alone or have their own credit card. Actually, having a strong mother, and finding feminism early did shape me. Many of us do want a relationship with an equal, but we don’t need one.
