Wow, Marley K. Excellent article. A group of men, in my all white town when I was a kid, did Blackface for a “talent show.” Even as a child I was horrified by the racism of it. It couldn’t be a more obvious slur toward Black people. Fortunately, I belonged to a church denomination that focussed on social justice, reconciliation, and reparations. I was given a moral compass in an otherwise racist environment, and as a result, immersed myself in Black history and culture. Your “advice” on what recovering racists should do is excellent.
