While I have a take on this from a psychological perspective I’m writing, I agree with much of your opinion. I do hope this takes the Oscars on a different tack when it comes to making fun of celebrities. Making fun of foibles is one thing, punching down on someone with an illness or condition is another. And according to people who attended rehearsal, the joke was an ad lib by Chris Rock.
