This is a touching article. My biracial son was born 27 years ago, around the time you and your husband got together. It’s true that he and I and his Dad and I have encountered racism here in the U.S., but surprisingly nothing as bad as what you experienced. And when I date a Black man now, we don’t get the stares we would gotten then. I, like you, am an impatient optimist.
