Sweet Wolf. All of what you wrote is true. Depression is genetic. It’s exacerbated by unresolved trauma. And it can be triggered by seeing all the wrongs in our world. I’ve had it since I was at least 10. And I’ve had a clear sense of the world’s unfairness since 14. This is not advice, just my truth. Therapy helped, and my antidepressant takes care of the hopelessness. It’s the hopelessness that keeps us from continuing forward movement. Mindfulness has done the rest. Most days I’m actually “happy.”
