Raising my Black son required doing research and being creative and diligent in exposing him to art, media, and toys that reflected him. I still have his “My Buddy” Black doll. Even more important is exposure to as many cultures as possible. It helps our children become citizens of the world, which, whether we recognize it or not, we all are.
