It’s interesting that seemingly shame is being directed toward people with STDs, when herpes is so common the WHO estimates half the global population has it. And number of partners doesn’t predict infection. Nor does age. I’ve known people in their sixties with only one or two previous partners to contract it. Testing and prevention with condoms is vital, and herpes can be controlled with daily valacyclovir, while also cutting risk of transmission in half.
