I see your point. Perception is often racist. And while it's true there is no scientific basis for "race," it is the racism attached to the concept that requires we use the terms to have the conversations. I've done a Tolerance Workshop with children where they choose crayons to match their skin color. Everyone winds up mixing several to get the correct shade, and nobody is black, white or brown.
