He could very easily have said so many other things. Like, “I already like you.” Or, “I already like your intelligence, sense of humor, honesty,” or whatever else it was he liked. He assumed she was talking about her body. She probably was. But he could have said, “How will I know if we don’t meet?” Or even asked, “What could possibly be wrong with you that I wouldn’t like?” Even. “I like women with curves.” So many options other than, “I wouldn’t mind your figure.”
