Excellent article Elle. Thanks for quoting me, and I wish I’d said more. My mother died because she became addicted to tramadol, before it became epidemic. Doctors handed them out to her like candy. My thirty-something year old client died of a rare cancer. Doctors had treated her conservatively for progressive cervical cancer, but only looked for “horses, not zebras.” Plus, she had HPV, so they never looked further than the cervical cancer. I have many more stories.
