Being the White mother of a Black son, I absolutely agree with you. It's always my concern that White mohters who give birth to or adopt Black children, do not know anything about Black history or the struggles of Black people in America. I have written about this frequently. Before this, I didn't know the Supremem Court nominee had adopted. Her identifying as conservative alone gives me cause for concern for her Black children, and ours.
