As you see from my highlights, I’ve had similar difficulty understanding the Palestinian oppression, having first had sympathy for the Israeli state after persecution of the Jewish people for centuries. While complicated, it appears obvious that Israel, now having the power, are the ones doing the oppressing. It’s also true that Arab states closed their borders to Palestinians.
